Argus Too
Inappropriate moves on the casting couch may be old news, but the tale of how a once famous, movie mogul lost both of his eyes is still to be told.
This short drama-horror was a finalist in the Cambridge Script Festival and was a selected screenplay in the Berlin International Screenwriting competition in 2025.
Synopsis
Gerald T Goldman a legendary, but aging film producer is ready to go to any lengths to equip himself with the cutting-edge technology which will set him apart from his rivals. Despite the risks he invests in an experimental bionic eye implant to give him extraordinary sight – that of a high-definition camera lens with machine vision.
Concurrently, the unfortunate nervous breakdown of his casting director at a crucial point in pre-production results in the task of finding the lead actress falling to him.
Quickly slipping into his old techniques he sets out to ‘snort up truffle’, but Gerald's luck is changing, and it seems this pig has pushed one starlet too far.
